Healthcare at the Last Mile

A presentation by Dr. Naman Shah, Jan Swasthya Sahyog, Chhattisgarh, India

The Jan Swasthya Sahyog , the people health’s support group, is a grassroots healthcare organization run by dedicated healthcare professionals to run low-cost and effective health programs in the tribal and rural areas of central India to serve socially and economically marginalized communities. The event was held on  Saturday, December 14, 2019, 6:00pm at  Orange County Medical Association (OCMA) meeting room, Newport Beach, CA 92660. AID LA-OC thanks OCMA for providing us the venue for the event.

About the speaker: Dr. Naman Shah is a physician-scientist who grew up and trained in the US and moved to rural, Central India to support the incredible service and advocacy work of Jan Swasthya Sahyog (The People’s Health Support Group). He is interested in equity, health systems improvement, and generalism in medicine and has at various times tried to enact change through academia, the government, and the World Health Organization. Dr. Shah completed his MD and PhD at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and specialized in family medicine.
